1ST LECTURE

I’ve pasted the Gibbs model below as a guide to myself as I am completing this post.

WHAT HAPPENED?

It was the first lecture of the module. I got to see who was in the module and who was running the module etc

FEELINGS

I feeling a little bit anxious and excited – what will my classmate be like, what will my lectures be like, what will the material be etc

GOOD/BAD EXPERIENCES

Overall it was a good experience. I was in a group with 1 new person, the material was interesting and the lectures seem quite prepared and knowledge and also are open to free wheeling conversations. The only slight negative would be that I didn’t really get to meet the other classmates

ANALYSIS

I think the reasons why I felt positive after the class was the teachers showed they have a keen interest in this topic. My other classmates also seem quite interested. There is a positive atmosphere and there is also a open, calm and respectful space for discussion

WHAT ELSE COULD I HAVE DONE?

I could have moved to a different group so I would have been with 2 new people.

ACTION PLAN

Perhaps I will talk with my classmates before the next class and talk to them about sitting separately the next time, so we can hear different opinions and meet other people.

Also, to remember if an organisation is offering an extra voluntary program, mostly likely the people who are running and very passionate about the topic and also the other people who are choosing to spend their time there.
